Our programs launch today's teens into tomorrow's leaders - and they dream big!
Just ask SSS #110 Curtis Alum Kristie Spadoni.
The fun and activities got Kristie here, but her love of the engine room started aboard Curtis as a Sea Scout. She achieved her Quartermaster as a teenager, then went on to study at Cal Maritime. Her dreams didn't stop there even after entering the male-dominated world of engine rooms aboard large ships.
This emerging leader used the same drive and focus that helped her achieve her Quartermaster award as a teenager and realized a lifetime goal.
She got her Chief's License before her 30th birthday!
This May she kept the promise she made herself years ago - all while working full time and participating as an adult volunteer in the program she participated in years ago.
CONGRATS, Kristie! You are trailblazing a path on the water for the young women in our programs.
