Mark your calendar for homecoming at North Allegheny on Friday, October 18! Join us for food trucks, NASH club booths, candy, family fun and football! The homecoming parade is set to begin at 5:40 PM. The North Allegheny football team hosts Pine-Richland with kickoff slated for 7:30 PM.

NA iPAD/LAPTOP INSURANCE PROGRAM
DEVICES MUST BE ENROLLED BY NOVEMBER 1, 2024

You have the opportunity to renew or sign up for the annual insurance program for your student’s District-issued iPad or laptop. Membership in the insurance program is an annual process that covers the device throughout the school year, the following summer, and the start of the following year. If you were enrolled in the insurance program during the 2023-2024 school year, your coverage will end as of midnight on November 1st, 2024, unless you renew. | |

What is covered?
- All physical components of the device
- Theft of device WITH a police report
What is NOT covered?
- Loss of device
- Loss of carrying case/protective sleeve
- Reasonable wear and tear (examples may include scratches, dents, worn keys, etc.)
- Damage as a result of reckless abuse or willful conduct
Cost
- The annual fee for the 2024-2025 school year is $35.

ANNUAL NA TRANSPORTATION BUS SAFETY POSTER CONTEST LUNCHEON | |
The North Allegheny Transportation Department is excited to announce that it will be hosting its yearly luncheon to celebrate the winners of the School Bus Safety Poster contest. If your elementary or middle school student took part in last year’s contest, keep an eye out for details about our upcoming pizza luncheon. The event will take place on Thursday, October 24, at the Ponce Room in the Baierl Center. | |
14 STUDENTS SELECTED TO PMEA DISTRICT 1
HONORS BAND

Fourteen students from the North Allegheny School District have achieved a significant milestone by successfully auditioning for the prestigious Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 1 Honors Band. Their success is even more commendable considering an intense competition, with almost 600 students auditioning from band programs across Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties at South Fayette High School on October 7.
The following students from NASH successfully auditioned:
Athena Zhang (Flute), Seoyoung Bang (Clarinet), Lauren Hwang (Clarinet), Violet Kucler (French Horn), David Willey (Tuba), Adam Briggs (Tuba) and David Cobbey (Percussion).
The following students from NAI successfully auditioned:
Evan Wang (Flute), Ian Eom (Clarinet), Aradhya Sircar (Clarinet), Joy Zhang (Clarinet), Matthew Choe (Bari Sax), Jonathan Uh (Trumpet 2) and Ryan Anderson (French Horn).
The students will now have the opportunity to showcase their talent and hard work as they perform with the PMEA Honors Band on Sunday, November 24, at North Hills High School. This upcoming performance is a testament to their dedication and the high standards of music education in our district.

NA SENIOR RECEIVES NSDA ALL-STATE AWARD | |
The President of the NA Speech & Debate team, senior Kristina Wisniewski, has been recognized by the National Speech & Debate Association with the NSDA All-State Award. Each year, the NSDA All-State Award is presented to the top overall point earners in each state, with no more than 25% of the points coming from service. To qualify for the award, a student must have competed at nationals at least once. Wisniewski is one of only two students in Pennsylvania to receive this award and has earned the most NSDA points in the entire state. She has participated in nationals twice, placing 17th out of 280 entries in 2023 and 25th out of 276 in 2024. | |
BWE 5TH GRADER EARNS 1ST PLACE IN AHINSA CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS CONTEST | |
Bradford Woods fifth grader Flynn Saksen competed in the 8th Annual Creative Expressions Contest and earned first-place honors. The Pittsburgh area competition was part of the 2024 Mahatma Gandhi Birthday Celebration facilitated by AHINSA (Alliance for Humanitarian Initiatives, Nonviolence & Spiritual Advancement). The theme for this year's event was "Crafting Harmony in a Contemporary World" to celebrate World Peace Day. Saksen submitted a canvas she painted depicting the world with friendship bracelets glued around it, symbolizing interfaith dialogue, community building, non-violent conflict resolution, and citizen diplomacy. She was awarded $750 for her first-place entry in the Grades 3–5 category. The winners were announced at the Gandhi Day celebration at Carnegie Mellon University over the weekend. | |
NA BOYS' GOLF TEAM WINS FIRST WPIAL TITLE IN 53 YEARS | |
The North Allegheny boys’ golf team won its first WPIAL championship since 1971 and second overall on Thursday at Cedarbrook Golf Course. NA secured the title with a team score of 386, edging out runner-up South Fayette by three strokes. Junior Ravi Desai led the Tigers, shooting a 72. Senior Chris Hoffman and junior Preston Troiano each carded a 75. Junior Liam Cooper shot an 81, while junior Colin Ward and senior Charlie Burbick tallied an 83 and 84, respectively. North Allegheny advances to the PIAA Team Championship on October 23 at Penn State Golf Course. Prior to that on October 21-22, Hoffman and Desai will compete in the PIAA Individual Championships at Penn State. | |
NA ATHLETICS OF FAME BANQUET | |
The North Allegheny Athletic Hall of Fame banquet is scheduled for Thursday, October 17, at 6:00 PM at The Chadwick in Wexford. Thirteen inductees and four special award winners will be acknowledged as part of the Hall of Fame's 27th induction class at this esteemed annual event. Festivities will commence with a social hour at 5:00 PM. Tickets are $44 each and are available at the North Allegheny Athletic Office. | |
"PINK OUT" GAME TO SIDELINE CANCER | |

When the North Allegheny football team hosts neighborhood rival Pine-Richland for a non-conference game on Friday, October 18, it will be a "Pink Out" Night at Newman Stadium. Help the Tigers sideline cancer by purchasing pink clothing apparel, with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
