Happy Halloween!!!

From the entire team at CarePatrol of North Indy, we wish you a

Happy Halloween!

Halloween brings together all age groups, but is the beginning of a poignant season. With trick-or-treaters out in full force, seniors participate when they answer the door, drop candy in a bag, or simply observe the display of creativity on parade.

At CarePatrol, we always see an increase in calls after a holiday. We all know the causes and that the signs are often there in advance. We hope to arm you with resources to share with your patients and clients.

This month, be sure to check out our primer on falls and please share as you deem appropriate. Also, there are some great community resources, that you may even want to jump in and get involved with too! As always, if you know of an aging client, patient, or loved one, don't hesitate to reach out to us today!

Sincerely,

Heinz, Petra, Jennifer & Michael

Don't Take Falls Lightly

Resources  for Elderly Falls

Falling is not necessarily a normal part of the aging process but falling can make an older adult feel vulnerable. More than one out of four older adults falls each year, but less than half discuss the incident with their doctor. And falling once can double their chance of falling again.

Because a fall could result in pain, broken bones, soft tissue damage, spinal injury or even a traumatic brain injury, it is important to know what to do if a loved one falls. We have put together a resource that will help guide you through this concerning scenario.

CarePatrol understands the worry that loved ones can experience when an older adult lives alone, including the risk of falls. Reach out today if you have a loved one who has recenlty fallen!
