Courtesy Program Renewals

Watch your email for the courtesy program renewals. Re-nominations will be sent to the current owner of record. It is the responsibility of the owner to renominate their horse(s) prior to the December 31, 2019 deadline. If an owner does not receive the renomination form, please call AHA to renew. Take advantage of lower fees and postmark/transact your renewals on or before December 31, 2019. Renewals postmarked after December 31, 2019 may be subject to late fees or additional fees.

For Achievement Award and Amateur Achievement Award renewals, please submit your request prior to your first competition of 2019.

You can renew by submitting the completed form with payment to AHA via US Mail, on-line or email (pdf format). You may also contact the AHA office at 303-696-4500, option #4 and renew over the phone.

The completed Nominated Sire Breeding Information Report for 2019 must be received in the AHA office by November 1, 2019.

AHA will actively solicit the owners of the mares that your Nominated Sire has bred and encourage them to enroll their unborn foals as Breeding Entries. Complete a report for each Nominated Sire.

Nominated Sire Breeding Reports can completed on-line at www.ArabanHorses.org . Simply log in to the AHA website and click on Nominated Sire Breeding Reports, locate your sire and click on the name. You may enter as many mares as needed.

You can also print off a Nominated Sire Breeding Information Report and mail it to the AHA office.

Mare owners are encouraged to enroll their foals as Breeding Entries making them eligible for a lifetime of amazing benefits.

Enroll for only $400
Every fourth Breeding Entry enrolled in the same year by the same owner and is submitted at the same time will be enrolled at one half price
Only Breeding Entries are eligible to compete in Regional and National Yearling Classes
Breeding Entries are eligible to compete in the ABS AAO Jackpot Classes at US Nationals
Beginning in 2021, ABS A/HA/AA Dressage Prospect Incentive Class at Sport Horse Nationals will be restricted to Sweepstakes horses
Breeding Entries are eligible to compete in the ABS A/HA/AA Green Working Hunter Derby at Sport Horse Nationals
ABS AAO Performance Halter classes available at US Nationals in 2020 will be restricted to Sweepstakes horses
Lifetime earnings in Sweepstakes designated classes and distance rides
Breeding Entries are more marketable for resale
Breeder/Nominator will receive 10% of prize money earned by that Breeding

Horses Wanted for the National Youth Judging Contest

We are looking for Halter, Country Pleasure, PB Show Hack, or Costume horses. Please contact Brenna Johnson if you have a horse available.

Horses would be needed in the morning on Friday, October 25 in the Pavilion. Each horse that is shown in the contest will be credited back for one stall fee.

One Amateur's Advice

Shian Nicholson, originally from Michigan, is an amateur Arabian rider, with a Canadian National Title in the show ring. In this article, she discusses how to succeed in the show ring as an adult rider on a budget .

“I took lessons starting at about age four after begging my mom to take me to a training barn. I started showing around the age of 12 in small shows and 4-H where I lived in Michigan. My first horse was a Quarter Horse who I learned everything on except how to be competitive in shows. That horse stayed with me until he passed this year at the age of 35. I got a Half-Arabian when I was 16. He was 17, thin and hadn’t been ridden in a few years. That horse and I started showing after he was healthy, and we won everything we went into. He was the first horse I got to ride Country on, and I fell in love with the discipline and the breed. After graduating college I wanted to get back into showing at the high level, and I knew I wanted another Arabian. I bought Mojo Rising for next to nothing and a promise that I would give him a good home. Five years and multiple Regional Championships, National Top Tens, and a Reserve National Championship later, Mojo Rising and I are best friends, and we get better every day together. "
