Are School Arts A Luxury?

What do you think?

Do all children, in all neighborhoods, deserve equal access to the arts from the day they start school?

We’re sending a big shout out to Dream A World Education donors and funders who said yes and kept Secrets of the Heart® classroom arts programs going strong throughout the 2023-2024 school year. As we celebrate the successes of the last school year and prepare for reaching more children in the 2024-2025, we want to remind you that every 2024 Back to School donation, including your donation today, goes toward keeping music, dance, drumming and other arts experiences in under-resourced public schools from California to Nigeria. Schools rely on community-based organizations to fill the arts education gap, and since 2008, Dream A World Education donors and funders have delivered!

This school year, Secrets of the Heart® continues to deliver sequential programming for partner schools with web-based and hybrid programs, One World Drum Circles and Dance in America.

(If you live in California, you may be asking, “What about the Proposition 28 voter-approved funding for school arts and music?” The reality is that limitations imposed by Proposition 28 restrict rather than increase under-resourced schools’ access to community-based arts organizations like Dream A World Education.)
