Help with Weekend Backpacks

The Backpack Ministry needs some help!

Each week, the people of St. John's purchase, pack, and deliver take-home bags of groceries to help alleviate weekend food insecurity for children in need. This is a weekly ministry with small time commitments and flexible schedules for each step. Take a look at the sign-up to see where you can lend a hand. Many spots for October are open!

Weekly Events

Mid-Week Eucharist .jpg

We are starting a new study this week on 1 John.

Common Ground Community Garden

It's that time of year when a lot of us just have the itch to cleanup the garden. But let's think about the life that continues to live in those unkempt spots and maybe do a little less!

Saturday, November 7, 9:00 am, Common Ground Fall Workday. That will be a day when we kind of put things to bed. We leave a lot of dead material including seed pods in place during the winter, but there will be some, along with acorns, to remove.  And there will be soil conditioner to put down. (We'll get a big load of compost in the spring.)

Altar Flower Dedications

Altar Flowers are given to the glory of God and in memory, thanksgiving, or celebration for people or events important to that day's flower donor. One dedication per Sunday is accepted; flower donations are $75. Please send the completed form with payment to the church office. Contact the office with questions.

Available dates; October 18, 25, November 26, 29, December 20, 27
