This year, it was even more unjust. Those we serve are especially vulnerable to infection from COVID-19. And that means that the rest of our community is at greater risk as well, since an outbreak here, in our area’s largest homeless encampment, would not stay contained here.
We are very pleased to report that recent testing reports that our COVID infection numbers are LESS than that of Salinas and Monterey County, due to extraordinary efforts to educate and provide additional sanitation efforts, which YOU supported! We can also say that Dorothy’s Place was able to relocate 44 of the most vulnerable from the Chinatown encampment to a motel to self-isolate, and support them with case management and all their essential needs. Those people are nearing the time when they will be permanently housed.
Your financial support makes us a tremendous success! A win for everyone! We have the heart to stare COVID in the face and beat it back. You have the heart to keep your families safe AND support our efforts financially. Everything we do is because you have our backs! Please support us now with your donation.
