Minnesota Truth Council Story Collecting

The Minnesota Truth Council is an independent, non-partisan body created by the Governor to document the experiences of Minnesotans during Operation Metro Surge and Operation PARRIS in 2025 and 2026. The Council is creating a historical record of what happened including the harms experienced by individuals and communities and the ways Minnesotans responded and supported one another and will issue a formal report with findings and recommendations.

Unity's Racial Justice Team invites you to share your experience with a trained Unity Story Collector. The Truth Council wants to hear from anyone who was directly affected, witnessed what happened, or participated in the community response. We encourage Unity members to help us reach beyond our congregation. If you know a friend, neighbor, colleague, family member, or community member whose experience should be heard, please share this opportunity with them. A trained Unity Story Collector would be glad to meet with them and help ensure their story becomes part of Minnesota's historical record. Contact Jen Welsh for more information or to schedule story collection at billjenjackjosie@live.com.
