Water Fund

February 20, 2026

Eligible customers, including those impacted by recent federal actions, may qualify for a one-time bill assistance payment of up to $750. The total fund exceeds $2 million, but less than half remains. Apply soon, as funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications are now open for the 2026 WSSC Water Commissioners’ Engineering Scholarship!

Prince George’s and Montgomery County residents pursuing engineering degrees - at any accredited college or university - are eligible to receive $3,000 annually (up to $12,000 total), plus priority consideration for paid summer internships.

High school seniors accepted into an engineering program are also eligible.

More snow could be on the way! If the flakes fall, be salt-wise! One 12-ounce mug of salt is all you need to melt 10 sidewalk squares.

Federal Investment Supports Essential Sewer System Upgrades

The FY26 appropriations bill directs nearly $2.2 million in federal funding toward vital sewer improvements in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, enhancing system resilience and protecting public and environmental health.

Reminder: Collections outreach for past-due accounts began January 5, 2026, including mailed notices and automated phone calls. Late fees have also been reinstated.

Service disconnections resume March 1, 2026, for past due commercial customers and April 1, 2026, for residential customers.
