Tomorrow: Community Service Day
We are excited to serve the Cedar Rapids community on Wednesday! No classes are held tomorrow as students will be leaving school with organized parent drivers to rake leaves and help at parishes. 

Start Time: Students report to their House at 7:50am
Dress: Students should dress in work clothes and wear something that says Xavier. Dress in layers as it will be a cool start.
Supplies: Students should bring a rake, leaf blower and/or tarp as they planned on Monday. If your family or neighbors don’t have a rake, a few extras are available at Xavier.
Dismissal Time: Once students return to Xavier, they are dismissed for the day. Parents picking up their students can expect students to finish around noon, although this can vary.
Meals: There is no breakfast and no lunch served tomorrow. Students are welcome to bring water and a snack.

Thank you to our parents who have volunteered to drive on Wednesday! We could not spread the Saints out across the Cedar Rapids area without your help!
Xavier Volleyball: Regional Final TONIGHT (Online Ticketing Only)
Xavier Volleyball will host Norwalk in their regional final match tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Ron Thillen Gymnasium.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has transitioned to online ticketing for all postseason events. Tickets for postseason volleyball can be purchased online through Varsity Bound at the following link: https://ia.varsitybound.com/vb/2021-22/comps/h2021100804103663520e8d685c6d443

Xavier Football: Playoff Information for Friday, Oct. 29 (Online Ticketing Only)
Xavier Football will host Burlington in the first round of the IHSAA playoffs on Friday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. at Saints Field. 

Tickets to all postseason football games will be sold exclusively online on the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s website at IAHSAA.org/Tickets.
The price is $8 for everyone Kindergarten and older. Due to this being a postseason contest, no passes are accepted.

Reminder: Donations Still Needed for Conferences
On Wednesday, October 27th, Thursday, October 28th & Friday, October 29th Xavier will be holding Fall Conferences. During these days, XPX provides meals for the teachers as these are very long work days at Xavier. There are still many donations needed! Please see the following link to help donate food and drinks for these meals. All donations can be dropped off outside the main office on the carts provided. Tuesday & Wednesday donations can be dropped off from 7:30am-12pm on those days. On Friday, please drop off between 7:30-10:30am. Reminder: Parent-Teacher Conferences This Week
Parent Teacher Conference Scheduling has begun. Conferences will be held:

  • Wed. Oct. 27th - 5:30-8:30 pm
  • Thur. Oct. 28th - 5:30-8:30 pm
  • Fri. Oct. 29th - 8:00 - 11:00 am

Please refer to the emails sent out last Friday for full instructions on how to register. Please refer any questions to Anne Wallraff, 319-294-6635 ext. 312. 
Reminder: Updated Saints Shop Hours for Next Week
The Saints Shop will have different hours this week due to Community Service Day and Conferences. 

The shop will be open the following days and times: 
  • Tuesday 10/26 1:30 - 3:00 pm
  • Wednesday 10/27 5:30 - 8:30 pm
  • Thursday 10/28 12:30 - 2:00 & 5:30 - 8:30 pm
  • Friday 10/29 8:00 - 11:00 am

The shop is still currently able to accept only cash or checks.
Reminder: Self Defense Class for XHS Girls
Xavier Health Club is sponsoring a Self Defense Class for all Xavier girls Monday November 8 from 6-9pm at Xavier. Cost is $5 through 8to18. Junior and Seniors will have first opportunity to sign up now through 10/29 at which time it will be opened up to Freshmen and Sophomore girls. Max class size is 40. Contact Mrs. Naeve with any questions.
Reminder: Faith Opportunities
Nov 1 registration opens for BCYC Encounter. This is a great conference June 17-19 on the Bennidictine College campus. We have had students attend in the past with rave reviews

Steubenville Youth Conference has multiple locations and dates throughout the summer. The registration dates vary beginning in November. These retreats fill very quickly.. This conference has had several students attend and they ALL have had a great experience.

Nov 4 - Chasing the Dream: What is your ultimate goal? Speaking event at U of I Newman Center. Father Chase Hilgenbrinck presents at 7pm. 
Reminder: Veterans Day Prayers and Outreach
Veterans Day is Thursday, November 11. We are so very grateful for the service of all military members and Veterans in our community and would like to keep them in our prayers and outreach. Please fill out this form so we have proper accounting of those currently in the military and those who are Veterans.
