Join Us Tomorrow for the Cherry Holiday Art Market!

Dear AL Community,

Académie Lafayette families and friends are invited to join us tomorrow, December 6, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Cherry campus for our annual Holiday Art Market. This festive community tradition brings together local artisans, talented student creators, delicious food, and joyful music, making it the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. Admission is free, and the event is open to the entire community. From handmade gifts to unique décor, there is truly something for everyone. Be sure to visit the Holiday Art Market Facebook page for a preview of select vendors!

Our seventh-grade families will host a coffee and tea table, offering warm drinks to support their upcoming trip to France, in partnership with the PTO's baked goods sale. We are still seeking both volunteer support and additional contributions for the bake sale. Families who are able to help are encouraged to sign up online.

Wanted: Ping Pong Tables

One of our Armour Friday Middle School clubs is looking for 3 ping pong tables. If you know someone who’s getting rid of one, please reach out to Wes Willett at wwillett@academielafayette.org to arrange pick-up or drop-off. Help us bring some fun to our students!

From the Nurses

We are seeing active cases of head lice in our community, and we ask that families check student's heads. Lice can affect all hair types and are not related to hair length, cleanliness, race, or ethnicity.

Lice do not jump or fly—they spread mainly through direct head-to-head contact. Spread from items like hats, brushes, or pillows is much less common, and lice cannot be transferred to or from pets. Checking with a fine-tooth lice comb is the most accurate way to find live lice or nits, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck.

If lice are found, start treatment right away! CDC-recommended treatment includes using an FDA-approved lice shampoo, carefully combing out nits every 1–2 days for 2 weeks, washing clothing and bedding used in the last 48 hours in hot water and high heat, and sealing non-washable items for 2 weeks. All household members should be checked.

If you have any questions or have found lice and need a nit comb, please contact the nurse at your child's campus. Click here for more information. Thank you for helping us keep our school community lice-free!

Help AL, Complete a Meal Application

Every family must complete an application, regardless of income level. Your completed application has the potential to increase our funding opportunities. Every family that fully completes and submits a 2025-2026 Meal Application will be entered into a drawing for one of four $25 gift cards on 12/19.

Just a note that, as of December 1, any carried-over free and reduced meal statuses from the 2024-2025 school year will be reset. If your family would like to receive free or reduced meal benefits for the 2025-2026 school year, please take a moment to submit a new application.

Questions or concerns, please contact DeAnn Gould, dgould@academielafayette.org.
