Run for Student Leadership – Lead the Pride!

Want to make a difference on campus? Student elections are coming up, and we need leaders like you! Apply to run for a position in the Student Associated Council (SAC) elections, including positions in the Student Senate and the Clubs and Events Board.


Want to represent the student perspective on the Los Rios Board of Trustees? Consider running for the districtwide Student Trustee position!


  • Application Deadline: Tuesday, April 1 before 5:00 pm
  • Elections: Log into eServices on April 22 or 23 between 8:00 am and 11:30 pm.


All enrolled students are eligible to vote—submit your application and take the first step toward becoming a student leader!

SCC’s new Student Health & Wellness Center (SHW 101)—located near the Cosmetology building—is open and ready to support students' physical and mental health! From illness assessments to mental health counseling, this expanded facility offers essential services in a welcoming space. Encourage students to stop by and take advantage of these resources!


🦷 Free Dental Cleanings for Los Rios & Students

SCC’s Dental Clinic located in (RHS 113), offers one free dental cleaning per year for all Los Rios employees and currently enrolled students! Community members can also access affordable dental care.

Late-Start Classes Start This Week

It's not too late to enroll this spring! The second eight-week (8W2) term starts Monday, March 24. Other late-start classes begin throughout the semester. This is a great opportunity to add another class so you can complete your program sooner and reach your academic goals faster!

The Community College League of California is proud to recognize the 2025 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-California Academic Honor Roll, celebrating the academic excellence and dedication of community college students across the state.

Distinguished Service Award Application Deadline Extended to April 1!

Are you graduating or transferring at the end of the academic year? Have you demonstrated a commitment to serving the SCC community or your community at large? If so, please nominate yourself for the Distinguished Service Award!


The Distinguished Service Award is one of the most prestigious awards offered at Sacramento City College and dates to the early years of the college.


Two students will be selected. This award comes with a $1,500 scholarship. Recipients will be honored in various ways including on the SCC website, in social media, at the May 2024 Commencement, and their names will be added to the plaques at the front of campus between Rodda Halls North and South.


The deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 1, at 11:59 pm. 


Note: If you applied through Academic Works (Los Rios scholarships), you do not need to submit another application.

SCC Students Recognized as Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship Semifinalists


Scott Lee, Araceli Robles, and Sohail Sohail from SCC have been named semifinalists for the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, an award providing up to $55,000 per year to support community college students as they transfer to a four-year institution.


This distinction places Scott, Araceli, and Sohail among a select group of 467 students nationwide recognized for their academic excellence, perseverance, and leadership. 


SCC celebrates this impressive accomplishment with you. Congrats, Panthers!

Your Voice Matters! Complete the Real College California Survey

All of us here at Sacramento City College care about your success as a student. You are invited to participate in a survey to help us better understand the challenges students face while attending college and to learn more about how students overcome these challenges.


The survey will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and completely anonymous. By participating in the survey, you will have the opportunity to enter into a drawing for a chance to win one of twenty $250 incentives.


This survey is being administered by The Research and Planning Group (The RP Group) for California Community Colleges. Survey results will be used both statewide and here at Los Rios to better support students now and in years to come.
