Public Service Announcement: All Library Parking Areas Open!
The McMahon Wintonbury Library parking lot is now open. Landscaping and other site work will continue throughout the fall, which may impact some parking spaces. Thank you to the Blue Hills Fire Department for their generosity and partnership throughout this process. For the shortest distance between library services and parking, accessible spaces are located directly outside the parking lot entrance at McMahon Wintonbury Library.
The Prosser Library parking garage is open. Handicap-accessible parking is available in the following locations:
-in front of Prosser Library along Tunxis Avenue
-in designated spaces in the parking lot at the base of the bridge
-in the parking garage
Please note that solar panel installation is underway. Equipment associated with this project may be visible on-site near the parking garage. Thank you for your patience and understanding as these improvements continue. We appreciate your cooperation!
| | Celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week | | |
This week, we’re joining libraries across the country in celebrating National Friends of Libraries Week (October 18–24, 2026), a time to honor and thank our incredible Friends of the Library for all they do.
Our Friends group plays a vital role in supporting our programs, enhancing our collections, and advocating for library services in the community. Their dedication and generosity make a lasting impact every day. Purchases of gently used books at the Booksellers' Annex at McMahon Wintonbury and the Booksellers’ Cellar at Prosser support library programs like our Summer Reading Program, helping us offer activities and events for children, teens, and adults all summer long.
Please join us in expressing heartfelt appreciation to our Friends for their unwavering commitment and countless contributions. We couldn’t do it without you!
