The Texas A&M Health Rural Engagement Program (TX-REP)—This state-funded program is a collaboration between the Rural and Community Health Institute, the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine, the College of Nursing, the Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy and the Telehealth Institute. TX-REP focuses on expanding the rural health care workforce and bolstering the operational and financial viability of rural health care organizations throughout Texas.
Participating organizations are supported by a dedicated one-on-one regional technical assistance coordinator in addition to virtual and on-site facilitation. Using a comprehensive needs analysis, TX-REP partners work alongside health organizations to formulate and implement sustainable action plans intended to improve financial performance, increase operational efficiencies, improve quality of care, expand workforce capabilities, provide leadership support and staff training opportunities and assist with transition to value-based care payment models.
Primary support for the Rural Engagement Program is provided through funding from the 88th and 89th Texas Legislatures.
