The Final Days of the CDA Initiative and Training Voucher Program

We are in the final days for the two largest financial aid programs for Early Childhood Education (ECE) professionals: the Maryland CDA Training Initiative and the MSDE Training Voucher Program ($400/voucher). Both of these important programs are ending this Sunday, June 30th.

CDA Training participants have until Sunday to use their $425 application fee voucher in YourCouncil.org. One-On-One help is available by contacting our grant specialist and the recommendation is to reach out to 5 PD Specialists by lunchtime TODAY to get a response by Friday. You should have an email from us with all the details.

If you are a Level 2 teacher, assistant or home day care provider who would like to apply for a $400 MSDE Training Voucher, express your interest via the ChildCareED online interest form ASAP so we can send instructions on how to apply (by the Sunday deadline!) through the Maryland OneStop Portal. If you still need One-On-One help after reviewing the instructions, contact our voucher specialist.

If you are approved for a voucher, you need to sign and date the provider section, toward the top of the form, using BLUE ink. Then, scan the signed voucher and send it to grants@ChildCareED.com. Our voucher specialist will provide you with the training shortly thereafter.

As always, we will let you know about any future funding opportunities for Maryland providers and hope many of you were able to benefit from these two wonderful opportunities.

Basic Health and Safety & Breastfeeding Class

Update Clarification

Per the requirements from COMAR, all child care center staff and family child care providers must take Basic Health and Safety & Breastfeeding Awareness (BHS&BA). If a center staff member or family provider has taken BHS&BA more than a year in the past, they must take the new BHS&BA class to update their certificate.

The ChildCareED BHS&BA class meets the requirements for a participant engaging in informal child care.

The current Basic Health and Safety & Breastfeeding Awareness class offered by ChildCareED includes the 2023 Update materials. To successfully earn your certificate, you must attend the full 3-hour class and pass the post-test with a minimum score of 80%. Certificates are emailed to participants upon successful completion of the class.
