New Century Careers Welcomed

Honduras’ Minister of Energy 

New Century Careers recently welcomed Eduardo Oviedo, Honduras’ Minister of Energy, and four members of his agency to its Pittsburgh facility.

Coordinated by GlobalPittsburgh, the visit highlighted the MANUFACTURING 2000 (M2K) program and its approach to preparing individuals for careers in advanced manufacturing through technology, industry credentials, employer engagement and trainee support.

NCC leaders and Board members discussed the impact of pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships while exchanging ideas about building skilled, career-ready workforces.

Thanks to GlobalPittsburgh, the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program and the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa for making this international exchange possible.

Hosting M2K Pre-Apprentices

The current M2K pre-apprentices recently toured the Machine Shop and Test & Assembly Operations at Kurt J. Lesker Company. During their visit, they were impressed by the precision behind the products being machined, assembled, tested and shipped around the world. The tour provided a firsthand look at the advanced manufacturing processes and the skilled employees who make Kurt J Lesker Company a global leader.
