Plaid Friday & Small Business Saturday

Plaid Friday celebrates the diversity and creativity of local and independent businesses. It’s a fun and enjoyable alternative to the big box store “Black Friday” consumer frenzy. Also, it’s a way to show your support for your local economy and commitment to the Choose Indie Local movement. So, plan to wear PLAID the day after Thanksgiving!

Support our local Main Streets and small businesses by “shopping small” ahead of the holiday season on Small Business Saturday, November 29th.

Restaurants & Lodging Encouraged to Participate in "Winter Weekdays"

A marketing venture started last winter to incentivize people to dine out on more days in the winter is expanding this year. Restaurants, cafes and lodging businesses statewide are encouraged to participate by offering a menu special, live music, or a fun weekday deal. To learn more, click here. Christmas Tree Raffle at WCC

The Chamber Christmas Tree(s) Raffle is happening now at the Wiscasset Community Center. Thanks to our generous member donors, this year the Chamber is raffling off two live trees along with decorations and 2 Prize Packages of gift cards and items worth over $800 each. Raffle tickets are 1 for $2 or 6 for $10 and available at the WCC, the Chamber office, and The First Bank in Wiscasset. Drawing will be held December 10. A full list of each prize package can be found here. There's still time to add your donation - contact the Chamber.

There are many events happening the weekend of December 5-7 for Holiday Marketfest - we'd love for you to be involved in everything the Chamber Creative Alliance, and Wiscasset Rec have planned!


Santa’s Block Party, December 5 at 5pm, Scout Hall on Lincoln Street. Volunteer decorators wanted! Free fun for the whole family!

Merry & Bright Light Parade - December 5 - sponsored by Dave's Disposal (participants wanted!)

Christmas Cookie Challenge, December 6 at 1:30pm at Aekeir Brewing. Bakers and eaters wanted!

Nonprofit Trivia Night!

Thanks to all who turned out for Nonprofit Trivia Night at the Wiscasset Community Center last Friday. The questions were a good mix, the food and drinks were delicious (provided by Back River Bistro - WACC Board member Corrinna) and the winning team had 2 of our Board members! (Duane & Aaron - not rigged! 😁) Board members Monique & Brie assisted Corinna with food (and holding baby to give Corrinna two free hands!) The Community Center chose us as their November recipient and, thanks to the generosity of the players, the winning team who donated their share back, and to Back River Bistro for donating half of the night's proceeds, a box of food and over $500 was raised to support the Chamber and the Help Yourself Shelf Food Pantry.
