A Message from the President

Happy Fall,
The fourth quarter has arrived, and 2021 is in our sights – thankfully. We continue to roll out several webinars so you can rack up more continuing education credits. On October 19, we will host an ethics presentation.
Your board met virtually on September 17 to discuss several topics. Here is what your board members have been up to since last month's newsletter.
Jason Wallace is excited to host a virtual career day in February.
Donny Beattie and David Hampton are forging a relationship with UT's newly formed wealth management organization.
Ann Connolly continues to manage our chapter's finances with much success. We will return to profitability this year, and we are on pace to post our best numbers since 2012.
Blake Rhodes and Sarah Frankenfeld are doing exceptional work in organizing our webinars.
Jeremy Jungbuaer and Brooks Morgan are talking to a few new sponsors for 2021. If your firm wants to sponsor our chapter, please contact Jeremy or Brooks.
Ross Patterson is working on a new pro-bono initiative with Austin ISD and Foundation 99 (a division of TCG). If you're interested in lending your expertise to help others, please contact Ross.
Hannah Simpson is doing a great job of documenting our chapter's 2020 progress, and William Martinez is waiting in the wings to tackle a special project.
Tasha Rock is expanding the women's initiative. We look forward to more D&I programs for 2021.
Daphne Jordon has been a guiding light for our board this year, and she continues to dispense much-needed wisdom – mostly to me.
Margaret Casey is getting ready to take over the reins in 2021.
As we wrap up another quarter, I want to thank you for your flexibility, patience, and grace. Zoom meetings have allowed our chapter to function, but I look forward to breaking bread with you soon when we meet again at the Austin Country Club.
Sincerely,
Bill Parrott, CFP®

Cash Flow in Retirement: Can a Retirement Income Plan Lead to a Happier Retirement?
Steven Sweeney Director, CFP, CLU, ChFC, RICP, Advanced Planning, Prudential Financial
For years, retirement planning has been focused on the “cash pile,” which often meant determining whether people were saving enough, how much should they save and “what’s their number.” Now with an historic number of Baby Boomers transitioning into retirement, focus will soon shift to the “cash flow.” This presentation will address potential threats to cash flow and strategies to create retirement income certainty.

Cooler weather is just around the corner. What does that mean for insurance? Believe it or not, it is claims involving animals. When it is cold out, small rodents look for somewhere to stay warm. Unfortunately for you, that may be inside the your car wreaking havoc. Also, deer tend to be more active causing accidents. Do you have the right insurance to cover a claim like this? Let us make sure. 512-345-0005.
