A Victorian Christmas has become an annual holiday tradition for many Maryland Entertainment Group Theatre fans. Though MEG may not be able to gather with guests this year with a live performance, MEG will still be offering a bit of virtual Christmas Cheer!

MEG invites you to join the theatre group online Dec 18-20, 2020 to enjoy A Victorian Christmas Virtual Variety Show 2020. Like all things in 2020, MEG will be doing things a little differently. It will be filled with songs, storytelling, and humor!

This lovely bit of entertainment will be free to view and right before Christmas!!! MEG will gladly accept donations for the event. Donate at paypal.me/megtheatre

Welcome to Locust Point
Mural Project Call for Artists

Bester Community of Hope and Locust Point Market seek an artist or an artist group to create a mural to be mounted on the outside of the building. The total budget for the work is $3,000. The call is open for artists who are Maryland residents. This artist call is presented in partnership with the Washington County Arts Council.
The mural will be created on an all-weather platform that can be semi-permanently attached to the back side of the building, facing north. The total size of the mural should not exceed 10 feet tall by 15 feet wide.
Professional artists or teams with experience with murals who live in Maryland may be eligible for this opportunity. Current liability coverage is strongly preferred.
The decision to mount the work rather than directly use the building as a canvas was made because of the plastic siding on the building. It is preferred that the art not cover the window as there is an apartment. The work will hang as long as it stands the weather and test of time, but will ultimately belong to the owners of the market. A concept is preferred as the market owners will be the primary decision makers. No typography is preferred.
11th Annual Washington County Art Educators
The Washington County Arts Council invites all art educators in Washington County’s public and private schools to enter work for the February 2020 exhibit. This is an invitational exhibition and all work will be accepted. Each educator can submit three works that have been completed within the last two years. Artwork may be dropped off Friday, January 29, 2021 from 11am to 5pm, Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 10am to 4pm, or Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 11am to 5pm.
The Exhibit will run from February 4, 2021 through March 2, 2021 in the galleries (social distancing + masks) as well as virtually by Saturday, February 6, 2021.

2020 Roadmap to Christmas
Hello friends! Charlie Brown’s First Annual Roadmap to Christmas is excited to share the following homes & businesses that want to show us their Christmas spirit! “We are going to share two map routes in the Facebook posts, but figured you can pick and choose which locations (listed on our Facebook page) that you'd like to visit and just plug them in to your Google Maps App on your phone. Google Maps allows you to add multiple (up to 10) stops on your route, so start at your house, pick your end location, then add all the other addresses you'd like to see! Google will even design the fastest route. Pretty cool!”

2020 HISTORIC HOUSES OF WORSHIP TOUR CANCELLED
The Historic Houses of Worship Tour Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the Annual Historic Houses of Worship Tour previously scheduled for December 26, 2020. This complex event requires experienced volunteers to plan, advertise, make participating churches available, and more, including working together over multiple months. Public health concerns, as well as the lead time needed to plan and execute this event, led the Committee and its partners to this mutual decision.
We are hopeful to be able to continue this event in December of 2021.
Over 70 original paintings from bestselling books set the theme of the exhibit and take you on a journey around the world to learn about the places and cultures from which Jan Brett gets her inspiration. From tropical rainforests to Arctic igloos, your imagination will fly away into The World of Jan Brett. The World of Jan Brett is presented by the Oshkosh Public Museum (WI) in partnership with Jan Brett.

Prepare ye for the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew.

Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden), and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side."

A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
