Community in Camaraderie: Community Autism Services Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

There is no community without support, a sentiment that the town of Raynham demonstrates undeniably.

On Thursday, September 17, 2026, Community Autism Services held their grand opening at 375 Paramount Drive. Taunton Area Chamber of Commerce was there to welcome and support them at a ribbon cutting ceremony that took place at 5:30 p.m. The event was followed by an open house until 7:00 p.m.

Among those in attendance was the Raynham Police Department, who brought their vehicles for attendees to tour and a cardboard cutout photograph opportunity. With a mission of "Transforming Lives Together" is it clear that the community apart of Community Autism Services is already thriving.

In a post made online, the Taunton Area Chamber of Commerce thanked those who, "came out to give the Community Autism Services - CAS team a warm TACC welcome and celebrate the important work they’re doing for children and families!"

This event was a wonderful celebration the positive impact comradery can make.

Historical Tidbit: In Honor of William J. Sullivan, Jr.

"William J. Sullivan, Jr., became Superintendent of Schools when Dr. LaLiberte retired. Mr. Sullivan had been with the system many years, as the principal of the junior high school, Curriculum Coordinator, and Assistant Superintendent.

When Mr. Sullivan retired in 1987, hundreds gathered, and he was presented with many gifts. One of the most important announcements was that the Center School, where Mr. Sullivan had had his office for many years, was being

renamed the William J. Sullivan, Jr. School in his honor."

Climate Can Do - Pack a Sustainable Lunch!

Looking for an easy way to make your lunch a little more sustainable? You may already have everything you need! Take a look in your refrigerator, freezer, or pantry.

Last night's leftovers can become today's lunch and a reusable container or water bottle can replace a disposable one. Get creative and give yesterday's dinner a lunchtime makeover by adding leftover vegetables to today's wrap or salad, or combining leftover chicken, rice, and vegetables to create a filling bowl. Using what you already have can help reduce food waste, save money, and make lunch a little more fun. For more ideas on preventing food waste at home, visit the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

MA INFORMATION FOR VOTERS

2026 Ballot Questions

Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Dear Voter:

On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, you will have the opportunity to make your voice heard. If you prefer to vote sooner, you can vote early or by mail. Early voting will be held October 17-30. On Election Day, all polling places will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

If you are not registered to vote, or you have moved since the last election, visit www.VoteInMA.com to register, check your registration information, and update your address. You must be registered to vote by Saturday, October 24, in order to participate in this election.

This year, there will be nine binding statewide ballot questions, the most that Massachusetts voters have ever been asked to consider. This official 2026 Information for Voters book contains information on all nine questions, including a summary of each proposal, the full text of the proposed/existing law, statements describing the effect of a yes or no vote, and brief arguments for and against each question.

The information in this book will assist you in making a thoughtful decision before you vote. With a longer ballot than usual, you may want to take notes and bring this book with you when you go to the polls.

The choices you make in this election will shape the course of government for our state, as well as local communities. I urge you to participate in this process, because your vote matters.

Very truly yours,

William Francis Galvin

Secretary of the Commonwealth

Raynham Lions Club Touch-A-Truck Revs Up Fun for Raynham

Big trucks, emergency vehicles, air horns, sirens, and a sandbox full of young construction workers made for a busy day at the Raynham Lions Club’s 3rd Annual Touch-A-Truck on Saturday, September 12.

Children had the chance to climb into trucks, sound air horns, and activate sirens on first responder vehicles. The Raynham Highway Department’s sandbox was also a popular attraction, with the Lions Club noting that it was “packed with little construction workers all day long!”

There was plenty to explore, including a massive crane from Baxter Crane, a heavy rescue vehicle from Marc’s Towing, trucks from Middleboro Recycling, the Ghostbusters car, a Tropical Smoothie Café-wrapped Cybertruck, a TMLP truck featuring a large auger, and a brand-new white cement truck and loader from Amrize.

The day offered more than vehicles. Families could also enjoy a free bounce house loaned by the Lakeville Lions Club, free face painting, and a visit from Janet the Lion. The Lions Club described the event as “nothing short of AMAZING.”

For children who love trucks and machinery, Touch-A-Truck offered a chance to get up close with vehicles and equipment they might normally only see from the road. It also gave families an opportunity to connect with local businesses, organizations, and first responders in a relaxed community setting.

The Raynham Lions Club thanked the volunteers, companies, organizations, and individuals who helped make the event possible, noting that it truly “takes a community to put something like this together.” An estimated 400 children and parents attended, making the event a memorable afternoon of exploration, play, and community connection.

Peace.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

~ Martin Luther King Jr.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”

~ Jimi Hendrix

“When I say it's you I like, I'm talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed.” ~ Fred Rogers

“Peace is more than the absence of war. Peace is accord. Harmony.” ~ Laini Taylor

Peace, dear friends, is a worthy thing to work for. It is not lack of conflict, it is engaging in inner and outer work that will build bridges between our differences.

Join me, and work for peace. ~ Jacquie
