Meet the building

HV Power's Auckland facility has moved to Mangere.

After 6 1/2 years expanding across multiple buildings on one site, in June 2026 we moved everyone and everything under one roof.

Mike Strong, CEO, says "The new location is larger, but more importantly, gives us more efficiency as our staff are all now under one roof. Higher racking gives us increased space to hold our customer's emergency spares, and the gated site makes maintaining health and safety easier. As the volume of product being supplied to customers is increasing each year, we needed the size and efficiency of a new facility to keep up."

The new location features dedicated undercover unloading space for trucks and lots of onsite customer/staff parking. We now have 2800m2 of building and 6200m2 of outside space.

With a ‘reach’ forklift for taller racking we have increased our storage capacity without a corresponding increase in floor space. Our new test bay is close to double the size of the old one, allowing larger equipment to be tested in that dedicated area rather in the production area.

While we are still unpacking and sorting the smaller details, we now have a dedicated display area, so come and see us to find out more about what we do and sell at 12 Andrew Baxter Drive, Mangere, Auckland.

Visting EEA in Auckland in September?

We are officially opening our new building with an open day on 21 September 2026. If you are coming up to Auckland for EEA, why not come up the afternoon prior and have a first-hand look at the new building and products we supply?

The official opening will be midday with a BBQ to follow. There will then be the opportunity to have a look around the facility and meet our team.

Lead-times

Current geopolitical events are causing significant issues with supply chains, amplified by large demand increases on factories due the worldwide electrification to decarbonise. The volume of switchgear and protection going into data centres around the world is staggering. All of this means increased lead-time, less factory flexibility, and longer and more expensive freight costs.

There is the occasional bump in delivery due to specific supply chain issues at factories, such as some subcomponent suppliers in China being embargoed by Europe.

However, most of our suppliers are handling this well. Siemens protection relays are still about 10 weeks for delivery. Switchgear is highly dependent on the model so contact us to discuss your needs. RMS Mors Smitt are now running multiple shifts with improvements on most products - but some auxiliary relays remain in the order of 18 weeks at this time. However, we continue to maintain good stocks of RMS and Siemens test blocks.
