Manitoba Government Completes Water Infrastructure Upgrades in Three High-Growth Municipalities
On June 1st, the Government of Manitoba announced that three water infrastructure projects were completed in the municipalities of Beausejour, Oakland-Wawanesa, and West St. Paul. The projects included extending and modernizing watermains, which will allow the municipalities to expand their water service capacities for future housing developments. This will allow the three municipalities to increase their housing capacity and hopefully encourage more homebuilding.

The Government of Canada Sends a Formal Letter to Mexico and the U.S. on CUSMA
On June 2nd, the Government of Canada sent a formal letter to Mexico and the U.S. informing both countries that Canada’s position will be to seek renewal of CUSMA. This announcement comes as Minister LeBlanc and Canada’s chief trade negotiator met with U.S. Trade Representative Greer - a meeting that was deemed positive for a renewal on CUSMA; however, no details were provided on when the two countries might begin formal negotiations.
This official announcement does not come as a surprise, as the public, industry, and industry associations like Supply-Build Canada have advocated to the government that CUSMA is beneficial for all three countries. Furthermore, a renewal does not mean that the countries will not update/alter the trade agreement, or sign bilateral agreements on other trade irritants, such as steel and aluminum, and lumber.

Remember how much you loved summer camp as a kid? We sure do.
We're partnering with CareerTrek to launch a pilot Summer Camp Industry Tour in Manitoba, and we need two member businesses to make it happen.
Here's the deal: CareerTrek brings the eager Grade 7 and 8 students and handles all the logistics - transportation, supervision, snacks, and insurance. You just open your doors, show them around, and tell them what you do. We'll help you build the programming if you need it.
This is your chance to get your business in front of future employees before anyone else does.
📅 July 21 and August 18
🕙 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (with a 30-minute lunch break)
Can't take a full group on your own? No problem - split the day with another Manitoba member and tag-team it.
We only need two businesses for this pilot. If you're in, don't wait. Reach out to Amanda at awright@supplybuild.ca to claim your day.

Block off your lunch hour on June 11. HUB International is cutting through the insurance jargon and getting straight to the blind spots hiding inside typical homeowner policies right now - so you can walk away knowing exactly where you and your employees stand.
You know what lumber costs. You know what labour runs. The person who wrote your home insurance policy? Probably not so much - that gap is a problem, and you can fix it.
