The Weekly Connector

October 2, 2026

Time to Pledge for 2027!

Our annual giving campaign is underway. We have big goals for the year ahead: pay our staff fairly, hire another priest, and better fund our ministry and outreach. To make it happen, we need to increase our pledge income by $250,000, so we all need to do our part.

You can pledge today using our new online pledge form. It’s quick and easy! Or you can use the paper form included with a letter coming to your home address soon, then return it to us during services or in the mail. However you pledge, please do it no later than Sunday, November 1st.

We’ll provide weekly updates this month on our campaign progress. Questions? Email us at mypledge@ourcathedral.org.

Blessing of the Animals, Sunday, October 4

During the 10:30 am Worship Service

In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, we’ll gather to give thanks for the animals who bring us comfort, companionship, wonder—and joy into our lives. Bring your dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, or other beloved pets for a special blessing. Photos are also welcome.

Come celebrate the beautiful, sometimes messy, always unpredictable animals in our community. There will be an abundance of giggles and smiles, other pets and their owners to meet, photo ops and reminders that along with St. Francis, we are all part of one sacred family.

Voices of Saint Mark's: How We Got Here

Wednesday, October 14, 7:00 - 8:30pm

The stories of how our panelists found their way to Saint Mark’s. Jay Nuhring will facilitate a discussion with Theo Park, Renee Sherman and Kamra Heldman.

This series celebrates the many stories, perspectives, and experiences of our community. Each of us arrived here by a different path with a story that has shaped how we understand God, community, faith, and the world.

Our Cathedral and its Culture

Saturday, October 17 | 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Saint Mark's holds a unique place in the Diocese of Minnesota as both a cathedral and a parish. Join us to learn about our history, from our beginnings as a parish church to our role today as the cathedral of the diocese.

Participants will enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the building, including an introduction to the new Archives room. You'll also have the opportunity to meet ministry leaders, learn about the many ways people serve and connect at Saint Mark's, and explore how you might become more involved in our community.

For more information or to let us know you plan to attend, please contact Mary Lusk.
