Hospitality industry workers look to BCHF for help

Numbers don't lie.

This year has been a fast and furious reintroduction to supporting our industry's workers.

Since January we have received a staggering 32 applications for assistance. Out of those, thanks to the careful review of our Beneficiary Liaison and Reviewing Committee, 18 families have received our support.

We have helped sick people whose conditions have taken a turn for the worse, supported them with funds that make the final stages of their lives less stressful, and helped them connect with their loved ones.

We have also helped less life-changing workers while they recover from broken bones, but still, providing them with the peace of mind they need to fully recover in order to return to the jobs they love.

Now in the second half of 2023, applications show no sign of slowing down with 3 pending applications in the queue.

Our beneficiary disbursement budget allocation is quickly approaching its limit for 2023. At this fast pace, our current fundraising efforts are not able to cope with the demand for funds required. We need your help!

How Can You Help?

  • Support our upcoming fundraisers
  • Magnums & More Wine Auction
  • Spirit of Hospitality Lottery - our largest online lottery
  • Make a donation
  • Host a fundraising sales initiative

Online Charity Auction of rare wine collection “Magnums & More” will run from October 1 – 21, 2023

Trialto Wine Group will host an online auction consisting of over 25 collectible Magnums and large formats. The rare formats are a special collection procured through our winery partners, targeted to support BCHF’s charitable work and highlight Trialto's 25-years of importing special wines to Western Canada.

We are thrilled with the success of this year’s tournament and fundraising efforts which could not have been achieved without the support of our golfers, silent auction and prize donations as we raised $20,000 at each tournament through sponsorship, silent auction prizes, and raffle ticket sales.

The Victoria Golf Tournament at the Olympic View Golf Club was so much fun with players dressing up and enjoying the day out. Special thanks to our Board member Stephen Roughley who helped us keep the BCHF "hot dog" hole running.
