Back-to-school Supports for Students
Alaska's children are heading back to school this month and getting back into regular routines. For many, that also means an increase in stress and anxiety. Parents and teachers may notice behavioral issues or symptoms of depression and other mental health struggles that flew under the radar during the summer.

Alaska Behavioral Health supports students in several ways, with in-person, on-site therapists available at some schools in both Anchorage and Fairbanks, and skill development support available in classrooms for students who qualify. Our school-based clinicians are excited to get back to school to support students they worked with last year - and meet new ones. In Anchorage, our new children's Partial Hospitalization Program is an intensive program for kids ages 9-11 who need to focus on their mental health.

Fairbanks Open House: August 25th!
Our Child and Family Clinic in Fairbanks opened just before COVID and has already been expanded to meet increased demand in the Fairbanks area! We're excited to FINALLY welcome the community to come see the clinic and learn more about our programs to serve children and families through our outpatient clinic AND at local schools!

Open House
Thursday, August 25
4:00 - 5:300 pm
926 Aspen Street

Hope to see you there!
September Events
Mental Health at the Movies!
Alaska Seeds of Change and the Bear Tooth are teaming up for a showing of the movie Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope on September 15th at 5:30! This movie explores the impacts of adverse childhood experiences on health, behavior and well-being, and shows a path forward to mitigate those effects. The science explored in this film underpins the work we do to support youth at Alaska Seeds of Change, and we can't think of a more fitting fundraiser for our program. A panel discussion follows the movie. Buy tickets here!
Out of the Darkness Walk
Alaska Behavioral Health and Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic will be at Anchorage's Out of the Darkness Walk at Cuddy Park, September 10th!

Stop by to say hello or join our team to raise funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Alaska Chapter!
POWER Center Grand Re-Opening!
