Join our resident BJJ Black Belt Chris B for a seminar on the fundamentals of BJJ for Krav Maga. This seminar is beginner friendly and will focus on proper control positions and transitioning between them.
FDKM Member Seminars are free for all Active Members, just RSVP your spot in class. If you have trouble RSVPing your spot, just reach out to Ann for help. For non-members who would like to attend there is a $25 fee. All levels welcome,

GAME ON!
We're hosting another GAME NIGHT! Join us Saturday February 28th from 4-9 for some board and video games. We'll set up the switch on a projector for video games and will have an assortment of board and card games to play. But if you have a favorite, please feel free to bring it in! Some examples of what we have to play:
- Ticket to Ride and expansions
- Wingspan and expansions
- Mochi Koro and expansions
- Dead of Winter
- Exploding Kittens and expansions
- Here to Slay and expansions
- King of Tokyo and expansions
- Unstable Unicorns
- Epic Spell Wars
We'll be serving light refreshments and snacks. Always welcome to bring something to share. Everyone is welcome, bring your family and friends! We hope to see you there!
If anyone is interested we can also play a traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year Gambling Game called Bầu Cua Cá Cọp (or simply Bầu Cua), which translates to "Gourd, Crab, Fish, Tiger. Just bring in a roll of quarters to play, bills if you're a high roller! It's a super easy game to play. There are 6 photos, just place your money on the photos of what you think will show up on the dice roll. There's Shrimp, fish, gourd, tiger, deer, and crab. If the dice land on your photo, you win your money back double or triple!

Being Vietnamese-American I try my best to bring the culture and traditions to Myles. Lunar New Year or Tet in Vietnam is one of the biggest holidays celebrated. Lunar New Year will be celebrated on Tuesday February 17th this year. Traditionally, businesses would close so families could go visit and spend time with their families and friends, much like Christmas here in the US. No worries, we'll be open for training on Tuesday, as all of our students and Instructors are an extension of our family. We hope to see everyone in on Tuesday for training! With every year, I plan on having some red envelopes for our Youth participants, and possibly some treats for everyone else. I want to wish everyone a prosperous, happy, and healthy 2026, year of the Horse!
Year of the Horse Prediction:
The 2026 Year of the Fire Horse (starting Feb 17, 2026) promises a dynamic, high-energy, and transformative period driven by ambition and rapid change, often leading to increased volatility, market fluctuations, and social movements. It is a time for bold action, independence, and seizing opportunities, but also requires managing high emotions, as the "double fire" intensity can feel overwhelming for some.

April 19th- All levels Practitioner 1-Graduate 5 (this may be part of a larger Spring Camp, TBA)

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for the first Members Seminar of 2026. It was 90 minutes focused on pad holding and combinations. As Nick said, this particular subject could cover another 3 seminars or more! Being a good partner and understanding how to hold mitts is vital to training. We hope everyone enjoyed the session! Friday APRIL 17th- Sunday APRIL 19th
3 Days of Krav Maga Training! FDKM will be running a special Spring Camp this upcoming April, so mark your calendars. It will be a great opportunity to get more training in on some fun topics and a great warm up for anyone going to the KMG Camps in June or July. There will be an opportunity to test, for those that are eligible, on the last day of training.
Official announcement with a registration link will go out on February 17.

Every year Krav Maga Global holds a week long intensive training camp for each Rank Group: Practitioners, Graduates, and Experts. This year the camp returns to Sardinia, Italy.
Practitioner Camp will be held from June 22nd-27th
Graduate Camp will be held from June 29th-July 5th
Expert Camp will be held from July 7th-13th

Reminder about Adjustments on your Membership
Just a friendly reminder that all Membership Requests must be done in writing and sent to Ann either via email at Ann@firstdefensekravmaga.com or you may drop off a letter. Things to Keep in mind below:
- 30 days written notice before the next billing for all membership cancellation requests.
- Exceptions will be made for emergencies on a case by case basis
- Minimum of 15 day written notice for members on a month to month tier. Though 30 days written notice is preferred.
- All memberships at FDKM are on an auto-renewal basis until we receive written request to cancel them.
- All hold requests must be submitted 30 days prior to the next billing cycle. A written request must be submitted and a Hold request form must be completed. There is a $15 admin fee for all hold requests. Holds are minimum of 1 month maximum 3 months.
- If you have submitted a request but have not heard a response, please try again. Or reach out to Ann to confirm that she has received it.
- If you have questions about billing, membership, or account issues please contact Ann. Not Nick, not the info box to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner

Tis the Season.....Aaaachoo!
It's that time of year again where the ICK makes it rounds. We highly recommend staying home if you're not feeling well to prevent the spread of a cold or illness. Just a friendly reminder of things to keep in mind this season.
- Wash hands frequently
- cough into your elbow or shoulder
- wash hands after blowing your nose
- disinfect shared equipment and gear after every use
- If you have a fever stay home, please give it at least 48 hrs. fever free before returning to class
- If you feel comfortable a mask is an option to help prevent the spread of germs
- Hand sanitizer is available throughout the studio
