Mobile Health Care News
Vol.14.2025
| | THE ROAD WE TRAVEL TOGETHER | | Today, nearly 3,000 mobile clinics are delivering vital care to communities across the country — a remarkable testament to the growth and vitality of the mobile healthcare field. What began decades ago as a small group of dedicated mobile clinic pioneers has evolved into a vibrant national movement, one that continues to expand in reach, capability, and impact. The Annual Mobile Health Clinics Conference, presented by the Mobile Healthcare Association, is now entering its 21st year and remains the leading gathering place for innovators, advocates, and operators who guide the work of mobile clinics. As long-time members of the Association, we can attest to the invaluable benefits of the Conference for providers who currently operate or plan to launch a mobile clinic. We encourage you to register today. | | |
Yet even with the impressive progress mobile clinics have made, we must be vigilant to unexpected roadblocks and detours. As reported in the Association’s 2024 Annual Member Survey, “stable funding remains the top concern for mobile healthcare programs, followed by challenges in staffing and vehicle operations. Additionally, limited awareness of the value of mobile healthcare continues to present significant barriers to sustainability and growth.” These realities remind us that while the road ahead is full of promise, it also demands our continued partnerships, focus, and resilience.
Mobile healthcare providers often navigate unique challenges while forging new paths and striving to create unique solutions where none existed. In recognizing this dedication and commitment, we are reminded of a line from James Taylor’s “Lonesome Road”: “Let nobody lead you, gotta walk down that lonesome road yourself.” Witnessed by the Association’s extensive educational and advocacy support for its members, the journey can be made lighter and more productive when we walk together.

While celebrating our 10th anniversary, The Authority staff and partners have been reflecting on the road we traveled. Our story began in 2001 with the launch of the very first national mobile clinics conference. Three years later, we were honored to collaborate with mobile healthcare providers nationwide in establishing the Mobile Healthcare Association. From those early days to today, the journey has been long, purposeful, and deeply rewarding; we are honored and grateful to our clients and partners for welcoming us on their journeys. Their spirit and dedication to the patients they serve suggest a promising future for mobile healthcare.
Warm regards,

Cardinal Correctional Care (MO). Recently added a mobile dental clinic to provide on-site oral health services at correctional facilities. The clinic emphasizes clear sight lines, accessibility, and efficient patient flow.

| | Tidbit. Wheelchair accessibility. There are no ADA regulations requiring a mobile clinic to have a wheelchair lift. This requirement is left by the ADA to be regulated by States, and most do not require a lift (or ramp). It’s best to check with individual State Health & Safety Codes. Wheelchair accessibility at the mobile clinic site, whether a lift or exterior ramp, can be included in the vehicle build-out. For quotes of both lift and ramp options, contact (619) 795-9605 or mobileclinics@aol.com | | |
