Greetings!

This week’s readings call us to slow down and turn our hearts toward God. They remind us that true greatness is found not in worldly success but in humility, mercy, and choosing what is good.

Zephaniah urges us to live simply and do what is right, trusting that God cares for the humble. Paul teaches that God often works through those the world overlooks, revealing that real wisdom comes from Christ, not human achievement.

In the Gospel, Jesus blesses the poor in spirit, the gentle, the merciful, and the peacemakers. The Beatitudes lift up those who hunger for justice, who show compassion, and who remain faithful in trials. The psalm echoes this promise: God lifts up the lowly and stays faithful forever.

Together, these readings offer a clear path to lasting joy—trust God, live simply, show mercy, and let humility shape our lives.

Parish News & Events:

May the grace of Baptism fill Brooklyn, this precious child, with the enduring light of Christ. As your family continues to live out your beautiful faith, may Brooklyn be a shining example of God’s love, and we surrounding this little one with joy, protection, and prayer.

On the holy day of Henry's Baptism, may the Lord bless Henry with purity, grace, and steadfast faith. May his family—strengthened by the devotion lived out each day by Henry—continue to walk faithfully with Christ and nurture this little one in His truth and love.

As this child is welcomed into God’s family, may his family's strong foundation of faith continue to guide the family home in love and devotion. With Jack helping lead the way, may this little one grow each day in trust, hope, and the comfort of Christ’s presence.

Join us this weekend!

Eucharistic miracles are extraordinary signs where God makes the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist visible—such as a consecrated Host becoming flesh or blood, surviving fire, or providing miraculous nourishment. These events, carefully investigated and approved by the Church, strengthen our faith in this profound mystery.

The Vatican International Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles, created by St. Carlo Acutis, features over 100 documented miracles from around the world. This is a duplicate of his exhibit, which is filled with stunning photos, historical accounts, and scientific studies, the exhibit invites us to rediscover the beauty of Christ truly present in the Eucharist.

Join our 2026 Lenten Small Group

Here is feedback shared by a parishioner who has participated in a previous Lenten Small Group—reflections that highlight the meaning, community, and spiritual renewal these gatherings inspire.

“I would definitely encourage everyone to join a Lenten group next year. I have been in a Lenten group for several years now and I have so much on this faith journey. It has given me the opportunity to share my faith with others and grow deeper in my understanding of the Lord’s love for everyone. I have been blessed to make new friends and grow deeper friendships with those I already know.”

As always, you are invited to participate in a variety of practices designed to help us grow closer to God as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

  • Lenten Small Groups – Starts January 31, 2026
  • Ash Wednesday – February 18, 2026 Masses at Noon and 7:00pm.

We are looking for "Guardian Angels" to help support

teens who are hoping to attend the retreat.

We are happy to announce that our 7th-12th graders will have the opportunity to experience our first overnight retreat since before Covid! It's coming up next month, March 6th-8th. The true cost is about $200 per teen, and we are asking them to pay $120 to keep it as accessible as possible. We don't want cost to be a barrier to entry, and are looking for "Guardian Angels" to help us pay for the retreat and perhaps sponsor a teen or two.

Thank you's:

Ministry Information:

We are looking to form an auxiliary group for the Knights of Columbus for the women of our parish.

The Columbiettes are a vibrant community of Catholic women inspired by our Patronesses—the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Thérèse the Little Flower, and St. Joan of Arc.

We are delighted to introduce a new Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus here in our parish, formed with the Council’s consent and support. Membership is open to all Catholic women; you do not need to be married or connected to a Knight to join.

Our Mission...

We strive to:

• Foster the spiritual, social, and charitable well‑being of our members.

• Uphold the dignity and vital role of Catholic women in protecting the religious, civil, and economic rights of all Catholics.

• Seek the intercession of Mary, our Mother and Model, as we work for the common good and extend compassion to all.

• Support the Knights of Columbus in their works whenever called upon.

As women united in faith, fellowship, and service, we joyfully invite you to learn more about who we are and how we serve. Our hope is to empower one another to live our faith with purpose, compassion, and courage.

If you are curious, interested, or simply want to ask a few questions, we'd love to talk, please email Maria Sapien at soymarus@yahoo.com

Opportunities to Contribute:

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.

Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.

Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning

Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.

We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting

Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School

with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.
