Greetings New England Masters Swimmers!
We hope you’re all enjoying your summer pool and open-water swims. Our annual fall, winter, and spring events seem far off, but will be here before we know it. On that front, we are providing you with the following updates and asking for your help.
The New England LMSC traditionally has two annual championship meets — a 300+ swimmer short course meters championship in December, and a 450+ swimmer short course yards championship in March. Thus far we have been unable to confirm a venue for either meet for the upcoming season, although not for lack of trying.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, which has hosted the annual SCM meet since 2015 and SCY meet since 2022, is not available this December, and we have not yet found an alternate SCM venue. For the SCY meet next spring, we have a few coals in the fire, including potentially returning to WPI or Harvard, neither of which are confirmed at this time.
Accordingly, the NELMSC Championship Meet Subcommittee requests your help identifying venue leads for either championship, especially the SCM meet this fall. We’ve contacted various facilities and are brainstorming with CT LMSC about a potential joint SCM championship, but we're open to suggestions and/or assistance establishing relationships with pool administrators. If you know of an appropriate venue or facility contact or can otherwise assist the subcommittee, please reach out to us at NEmembership@usms.org.
Also, if you’re interested in learning more about volunteer governance and/or standing for election for a NELMSC board seat in September, please contact NELMSC Vice Chair Guy Davis at NEvicechair@usms.org.
In the meantime, keep an eye on our continually updated NELMSC Event Calendar and sign up or save the dates for upcoming competitions, clinics, and celebrations, including the following:

Thank you for your support of the New England LMSC and U.S. Masters Swimming.
Happy Summer!
