Dear AltaMed Employee,
You may have heard of a temporary pause in providing Moderna vaccines in the state from a specific lot 041L20A. I would like to inform you and emphasize that AltaMed DID NOT receive this lot of Moderna vaccines at either our Anaheim or Corporate vaccine locations.
The CDC, FDA, Moderna and CDPH are working together to investigate possible allergic reactions associated specifically with this lot which are still extremely rare. However, at this time, the CDC and FDA do not recommend health departments stop administering this lot or any lots of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine.
As of today, nearly 2,000 AltaMed employees have received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. We are now planning the distribution of the second dose, and will share that information in the coming days. As a general reminder, those who received a first dose of the Moderna vaccine are scheduled for the second dose 28 days after receiving the first dose.
