Latinitas hosted the Startup Chica Conference in San Antonio, empowering students (ages 9-14) to explore entrepreneurship. Through workshops, they developed business ideas and pitched them in a Shark Tank-style competition.
Inspirational speakers included District 3 Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran, Yvonne "Bonnie" Garcia (CEO of MarketVision), Maria Flores (Founder of Hess Street Foods), and Varsha Shashisheka (founder of PyGirls).
Congressman Joaquin Castro was also honored as a guest. The event aimed to ignite passion and drive in the next generation of female entrepreneurs.
Latinitas Bus Unveiling: Celebrating Culture Through CapMetro Cares Initiative
CapMetro unveiled a new bus honoring Latinitas by promoting the organization’s story and mission. This was only possible due to CapMetro’s incredible CapMetro Cares Program, which supports “local non-profits by providing the advertising space on our vehicles to raise awareness about causes aligning with our values as an agency.”
