The Trauma That Keeps On Giving
Every time I hear the Jeffrey Epstein/Ghislaine Maxwell case discussed I worry that some of you are reactivated from the traumas you have suffered in your history.
Many Women Moving Forward® Graduates were sexually abused in childhood or as young adults in University.
Our WMF® workshops run 40-60% of participants have been sexually abused, Raped or sexually harassed. That's our workshops in the US AND our workshops anywhere in the world.
If this is your history I want you to know you have support here.
If you find yourself unusually anxious, worried above and beyond for your children, unable to sleep, having nightmares, having unusual pain, feeling lethargic and unable to do your regular routine, hiding at home or feeling you must keep moving constantly and you have been sexually abused in your history please seek help. Call us or if you have a therapist call them and let them know what is bothering you.
It could be that every time you hear anything about these pedophiles you are thrown back into your own unresolved feelings. Even if you have resolved alot of those feelings This particular case can dredge them up because it is ever present in our psyche and such an extreme case.
You may be watching or have watched these two people get away with it without truly being held accountable. That alone can surface your anger towards your perpetrator who may never have been held accountable for what they did to you.
If any of this is happening to you do the following ASAP!
1.Get a therapist make an appointment and see them regularly until the feeling you are having starts to go away or until this story is no longer front and center.
2.Join a survivor support group and get support from others who are suffering. You may find it helps you when you learn you are not the only one.
3.Volunteer to support programs dealing with this issue like "Stopping Rape On Campus"
4.Exercise regularly, it helps
5.Contact us we will remind you that seeking help does not make you weaker or prove your perpetrator won. On the contrary it proves you are strong and that you will not let your perpetrator win!
Remember you are not defined by this one experience. You are more then this one experience!
