The tickets allocated to St. John’s for the ordination service have been distributed and those individuals have been notified. However, everyone is invited to watch the livestream of the service either on Youtube or the diocese’s Facebook page.

Outreach for June

little_free_pantry_600_x_600_px_p3.png

Meant to provide shelf-stable items for people who just need a little something extra, the Little Free Pantry allows people to come and go – taking what they need, leaving something if they can – with anonymity and dignity.

For our June Outreach Drive, we are collecting food items to keep the Little Free Pantry stocked. Food items should be non-perishable and easy to open.

  • Instant oatmeal and cereal cups
  • Canned foods like tuna and chicken, fruit and vegetables, soup, chili, and pasta
  • Cereal/granola/protein bars
  • Peanut or cheese snack crackers
  • Dried fruits and vegetables
  • Instant food cups like ramen and macaroni cheese

Items may be placed in the brown collection bins in the narthex and office hallway or put directly in the pantry anytime the shelves need to be stocked.

VBS REGISTRATION

Monday, June 22-Friday, June 26

9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Inspired by the lives of saints like Francis and Martin of Tours and Therese and Catherine, St. John’s Hero Academy VBS invites children to consider how following Jesus’ call to love and serve others is the most heroic thing of all. Children will create projects in the Hero Maker Design Studio, play high-energy games in the Gamer’s Gauntlet, hear stories of the faithful in the Hero Archives, and relax with a treat or two at the Holy Hero Cafe. All the while, they will discover that we can indeed serve like the saints!

VBS SUPPLY DRIVE

Do you know how many ounces of Sun Butter it takes to make VBS happen? The good news – none, this year! (Last year, it took 400…if you were wondering). Sun Butter aside, there’s still LOTS to acquire prior to the best week of the summer. Below, you can take a look at Amazon lists curated just for St. John’s VBS. If you’d like to purchase any of these items, please ship them to the church or bring them to the church office by June 15!

Please note that shopping lists for snacks will be compiled and distributed when as-close-to-final numbers for participants becomes known.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to Sam if you have any questions!

Common Ground Community Garden

Agastache Meant to Bee™ 'Queen Nectarine'. One of our newest adds to the garden is this perennial, a long blooming plant that works well in a garden setting or in a large planter as a filler. Its unusually delicate flowers of peach and mauve has nectar that is a big draw for butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. We hope the two we planted will thrive and spread!
