Dear PR Maven® Nation,

We’ve entered a moment in history where technology moves at light speed, but authentic human insight has never mattered more. In this issue of The PR Maven® newsletter, we explore ideas that sit at the intersection of human intelligence, connection and professional culture amid the rapid ascent of AI.

First up, let’s talk about artificial intelligence. In my recent piece for Forbes called “AI Is Here to Stay, But So Is Authentic Human Intelligence," I break down why AI isn’t the end of our humanity in communications and leadership, but rather a catalyst to amplify our unique human strengths: empathy, context, creativity and judgment. The goal isn’t about replacement. Instead, it’s augmentation with intention and integrity, ensuring our work reflects real people and real expertise in a world of algorithms.

Next, solid organizational culture still depends on human choices. In Mainebiz, I shared why keeping politics out of the workplace matters now more than ever. Encouraging respect, psychological safety and professional focus isn’t just good HR practice, it’s essential to building inclusive, productive teams where people feel empowered to contribute their best.

Finally, regardless of whether you identify as an introvert or an extrovert, networking is not optional in today’s professional landscape. The latest Mainebiz article I wrote with Ann Leamon, my high school friend, on how to network effectively is tailored for all personality types and offers practical strategies to build relationships with confidence and authenticity, exactly the kinds of human connections AI cannot replicate.

Across these pieces, one truth stands out: no matter how powerful our tools become, trust, empathy and human judgment remain our competitive advantage. AI can enhance our work, but authenticity is what earns attention, builds reputation and strengthens influence. And coincidentally, PR generates content online that the AI bots find to be credible, legitimate and worthy of being scraped to serve up to people who are searching for what you have to offer (or for you yourself!)

Thank you for being part of this community. As always, your insights and experiences continue to shape the conversation, so keep sharing, keep questioning and above all, keep bringing your authentic self to every moment in your work and life.

Warmly,

Nancy Marshall

Tip of the Month

Make Your Website AI-Search Ready

If you want to be found in today’s AI-driven search landscape, you have to make it easy for artificial intelligence to understand and trust you and your business.

Start with case studies. AI tools love specifics. When you clearly outline the challenge, your strategy and measurable results, you’re giving search engines concrete proof of your expertise. Numbers, outcomes and industry details strengthen your authority and increase the likelihood that AI will reference your work.

Next, add a robust Q&A section. Think about the real questions your clients ask and answer them directly. AI platforms are built to respond to conversational queries. If your website mirrors that format, you dramatically improve your chances of being surfaced in AI-generated responses.

Also include a concise, well-written summary paragraph that clearly states who you are, who you serve and what makes you different. This becomes “scrapable” content that is clean, structured language that AI can easily pull and present to searchers.

And don’t forget earned media. Third-party validation from reputable outlets boosts credibility and signals authority to both humans and algorithms. Link to any earned media from your site and highlight it on your LinkedIn profile.

In the age of AI, clarity wins. Structure wins. Proof wins. Make yourself and your expertise easy to find, and easier to trust by humans and by the bots.

Upcoming Speaking Engagements

Podcast: The ChatGPT Experiment

I talked about how PR is more relevant than ever because of AI on episode 100 of Cary Weston's podcast. I describe how the content that PR people publish online is very easily found or 'scraped' by the large language models. I hope you will listen to this lively conversation between me and Cary, a professional associate and good friend in Maine!

Best Buddies Ambassador Academy

I am honored to be a guest speaker for two upcoming Best Buddies Ambassador Academy training sessions.

The Ambassador Academy is a nine-month leadership program for individuals ages 14 and older, with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities, that cultivates confident self-advocates and skilled public speakers. Participants develop the skills and experience needed to represent Best Buddies at community events, in media engagements and as ambassadors throughout their communities.

I am excited to be sharing my expertise and real-world insights with participants as they continue their leadership journey.
