National Farmers Market Week
August 1 - 7, 2021
Why should we celebrate farmers markets? Because farmers markets preserve America's rural livelihoods and farmlands. Farmers markets stimulate the local economy and increase access to fresh, nutritious food. Farmers markets support healthy communities and promote sustainability.
And, farmers markets are essential.
At the Mississippi Farmers Market we take that charge seriously. You will always find the freshest, tastiest and most nutritious fruits and vegetables, as well as the yummiest baked goods and attractive works from local artisans at the Mississippi Farmers Market. The Market is open from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. every Saturday. Thank you for supporting the Mississippi Farmers Market, and we hope to see you then!
Sunday, August 8 is National Zucchini day - but there's more...it's also National Sneak Some Zucchini onto your Neighbors Porch Day!
My goodness, but we like to have fun with our zucchini! However, there is more to this cousin to watermelon than making sneaky zucchini deliveries. Zucchini is a fruit and is the only fruit that begins with a "Z". The word zucchini means small gourd. One medium zucchini has more potassium than a medium banana. Zucchini is so versatile, and simple to prep in the kitchen.

You'll find zucchini at the
Mississippi Farmers Market on Saturday!
