Supportive Services Help to Give Second Chances
Tammy was referred to BEDS Plus when she fell behind on rent last year. Income from her part-time job did not cover monthly expenses, and she found it difficult to find a higher paying job due to prior justice system involvement. She qualified for our Justice Advisory Council of Cook County-funded transitional housing program that offers rental assistance and supportive services to those who have a prior criminal conviction or spent time incarcerated.

Assistance for justice system involved clients is one of many BEDS Plus program services. Click HERE to read our Annual Newsletter in full.
Thank you to the sponsors and attendees of our "It's a Wonderful Life" Pop-up event, held Dec. 3 and 4 at Joe's Saloon in Brookfield. The beloved event was a great success each night! The event raised over $22,000 for BEDS Plus. Your support means that more clients will receive the care they need during the holiday season. As Pa Bailey says in this popular film, "It's deep in the (human) race for a man to want his own roof and walls...and we are helping him get those things."

The event was even promoted on Fox Chicago News! Check out our Community Relations Manager, Erin, here!

2.    How can State government improve our partnerships with community agencies to end homelessness?
3.    How can State government agencies (like IDHS, IHDA, DCFS) work better together to end homelessness?
4.    Is there something that the State should stop doing?
5.    What are examples of innovate work or programs you have seen in other states/communities?
6.    Do you have any other comments?
