Clear The Shelters Is Here! | Double Your Impact & Help Pets Find Homes This August | | Abandoned Pet Rescue is proud to participate in NBC6 and Telemundo 51’s Clear The Shelters campaign, a nationwide effort to help shelter pets find loving homes. | |
Throughout the month of August:
All donations will be matched up to $20,000
and adoption fees are waived all month long!
| Standard adoption policies and processes apply. Learn more at abandonedpetrescue.org/adopt |
| Your Support Makes a Life-Changing Difference | | Every donation and every adoption helps us save lives. Summer is one of the hardest times of year for shelters. Adoptions slow down, while the number of animals in need grows. Right now, APR is overflowing with cats and dogs, many with heartbreaking stories and urgent medical needs. | | |
These are just a few of the cases we have taken on recently, and many more are still waiting for help.
Wether you donate or adopt, your support saves lives. Every dollar you give goes twice as far, and every pet adopted makes room for another animal to be rescued

From Critical Condition to a Second Chance
When Nova arrived at Abandoned Pet Rescue on July 12, she was in critical condition. Beneath her matted fur, she was severely underweight, infested with fleas, and passing blood in her stool. Despite everything, her tail never stopped wagging. We knew we had to fight for her.
Thanks to the generous support of the Brady Hunter Foundation, APR was able to rely on the Brady Hunter Emergency Medical Fund to rush Nova to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Fort Lauderdale, where she received urgent care. Nova was diagnosed with pancreatitis, a life-threatening condition that required several days of intensive treatment.
| After four days at VEG, Nova was discharged into a loving foster home with APR volunteers Sol and Juan, where she’s been healing and thriving. Her sweet, playful puppy personality began to shine, and she became healthy enough to find her forever home. | We’re incredibly grateful to our staff, volunteers, The Brady Hunter Foundation, and VEG Fort Lauderdale for helping save Nova’s life. | | |

Lamar began volunteering last year and has quickly become an integral part of the APR family. He’s a dedicated dog walker, showing up each week to give our pups much-needed exercise and attention.
He regularly serves as an event lead, helping promote APR and coordinate off-site adoption events. He also runs an Instagram account for one of our adoptable dogs, Mary Ann, to help her find a forever home.
