  • WILPF US at the International Congress – Member Information & Preparation Meeting

This year, for the first time ever, the International Congress will meet entirely virtually, via a special Canapii platform. Those who register for the Congress will receive invitations to special Canapii orientation sessions.

There’s still time to register for the Congress, which (depending on time zone) starts on July 15/16 and goes to Sunday, July 24. The Congress’s pertinent theme is “Making Connections: Environment, Social Justice and Demilitarization for Feminist Peace.” You must be a WILPF member to register, and the full nine-day fee is only $15!

Get your WILPF International Congress ticket here to attend (scroll to near the bottom for ticket options). The five presentation days, Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22. The Earth Democracy Issue Committee and a number of others from the US are giving presentations during that time. The official Congress business takes place during the weekend sessions.

That official business includes, as mentioned above, the Three-Year International Programme and amendments to the International Constitution and By-Laws, as well as elections for the International Board officers (president, two vice-presidents, and treasurer) and resolutions. The adoption of the Three-Year International Programme takes place at every Congress, to set major themes for sections’ program work for the following period.

This special zoom session will include a Q&A and discussion period for WILPF US members to query and offer input to the delegation members. (WILPF US qualifies for four voting delegates.) Be sure to register now for this WILPF US meeting on Wednesday, July 13, 2022: 5:30 pm PDT / 6:30 pm MDT / 7:30 pm CDT / 8:30 pm EDT.
