The Power of Giving: Counseling, Growth and Development program
May is Mental Health Awareness Month! To celebrate, JFS Orlando is putting the spotlight on our Counseling, Growth and Development program.

During the pandemic, mental health counseling has become more important and vital than ever before.
Did you know...?
Fewer than half of the adults in the U.S. who experience mental illness get the help they need in a given year.

That’s why last spring, JFS Orlando worked quickly to secure a new virtual system when in-person counseling sessions could no longer take place. Our counselors can now continue providing clients with their vital care via telehealth, especially during these difficult and trying times.

One of JFS Orlando's goals is to ensure everyone is able to access counseling services.

We are available to anyone in Central Florida, regardless of race, age, religion, or any other factor. Additionally, we accept almost all insurances, and are one of the few remaining agencies in Central Florida that operates on a sliding fee scale for those who do not have insurance or have an insurance we do not accept.

Visit our Counseling webpage for a complete list of all the insurances we accept at this time.
Meet via telehealth with a specialized JFS Orlando counselor!

How to Protect Our Children from ‘Technology Addiction’
By Jean-Ann Moses, MA,
JFS Counselor

There was a time (not that long ago) when we were told to not let children watch television for over an hour. That shows like Sesame Street, Barney, and Blues Clues would "stunt" the child's mental growth....Little did we know what the future had in store: tablets and cell phones.
