LWVLMPA New & Prospective Member Gathering

Please join the League of Women Voters Lake Minnetonka Plymouth Area for pizza and beer/wine at our New & Prospective Member Gathering.

Come and go as you can and meet other new members. We will share ways to stay engaged both locally and at the state level and learn more about the history of the league.

LWVLMPA Holiday Gathering

Join us at our 2026 LWVLMPA Holiday Party as we celebrate a year of community, connection, and democracy in action!

To help us plan and to receive the event address, please be sure to RSVP. We can’t wait to gather, share some holiday cheer, and enjoy time with fellow League members and friends!

Join our DEI Book Club!

The LWVLMPA Book Club is open to all members and friends. We read, discuss, and share our thoughts on current literature - both non-fiction and fiction - that illuminates societal issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Book Club meetings are usually held via Zoom on the second Thursday those months without a scheduled membership meeting. A reminder and the Zoom link will be sent along with discussion questions a day or two before the meeting. Feel free to invite others! All are welcome, even if you're unable to read or finish the book.

LWVMN Actions of the Week

(To highlight the most immediate ways members can take action, LWVMN has added Actions of the Week with links to resources near the top of their Take Action webpage.)

Women Defending Democracy: Unite & Rise 8.5 (WDD) is an initiative launched by LWVMpls in 2025 to mobilize collective action in defense of our democracy, our rights, and our democratic institutions.

Leagues from across the state are invited to join WDD in this united effort. WDD meets bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 5 PM via Zoom. Each session focuses on a single issue, discusses concrete actions they can take, and how they track them. New participants are welcome to join them at any time.

The League of Women Voters Minnesota (LWVMN) is recruiting nonpartisan observers for the Public Accuracy Test (PAT) and Post-Election Review (PER) in 2026.

With our statewide membership and volunteers committed to building trust in elections, we aim to have trained observers in at least half of Minnesota’s counties in addition to a number of cities that hold a PAT. Observers will gain a deeper understanding of Minnesota’s election verification processes.

  • Memo with training dates
  • Sign up to observe the Public Accuracy Test (PAT) with LWVMN
  • Sign up to observe the Post Election Review (PER) with LWVMN

Fired Up Friday sessions will take place on the third Friday of every month at noon.

If you have attended any previous Fired Up Friday calls, the link is the same and you do not need to re-register, and you will receive any meeting notes.

In these meetings, we will discuss county voter engagement, federal updates, and state action.

Help register new citizens to vote at their citizenship ceremonies!

All volunteers, not just LWV members, are welcome and encouraged to sign up.

Registering new citizens is an easy and joyous way to volunteer. Volunteers assist by handing out pens, answering questions new citizens may have, and collecting the completed forms following the end of the ceremony.

Morning and afternoon shifts are available when noted. Sign up for one or both and spend the day. The sign-up includes separate tabs at the top of the screen for each month.

Spots fill up quickly! Make sure to add yourself to the waitlist.

Location: Locations vary by date; please see the UPDATED sign up below for more details
