Message from John Parson, Director of Youth & Family Ministry

Happy Thursday to you all, I hope your week is going well. Thank you to all who helped, cooked and provided food for our Grace Café this past Sunday. It was a wonderful event, and I appreciate all you do.

---

Oktoberfest is soon coming and that means our annual Oktoberfest Lock-in! It has always been a fun night as we transform the tent from Oktoberfest food and dance to worship. We will enjoy a movie and wind down after a long but fun day. If you are interested in chaperoning this with me, please let me know. We start at 9:00 pm and we end with worship at 10:00 am. Please let me know if you are planning on being at the lock-in by Wednesday, September 30th.

---

We are back with SWAG this Sunday as our time will be 6:00-8:00. I think there was confusion last Sunday as to our ending time, I apologize for that, as we did end early the Sunday before on Messy Game night. But moving forward our normal ending time will be 8:00. This Sunday we will be doing Backpack Buddies as well as beginning our preparation for Youth Led Worship.

Eagle Scout Project - School Supply Drive

As part of his Eagle Scout service project, Sanjay Srinivasan is organizing a school supply drive to support children receiving care at Children’s Healthcare (CHOA). Sanjay will be collecting items thru 9/30/2026 and will deliver supplies to CHOA . A Collection box is setup in Hanberry Hall.

Why your donation matters:

Many young patients struggle with the cost of school supplies while they are getting treatment in the hospital. Your donation will help students begin the school year with the tools they need to learn and succeed.

Stuffed Animal Collection

The Kids Following Christ and JUST Club ministries are taking up a collection of stuffed animals. We will donate them to the local Fire station or Police Station for them to give out to kids who have had some trauma. We ask for gently used or new stuffed animals in which we can give and share God’s love with our community. We will start our collection on September 13, God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday and continue collecting through the month of September.

Wednesday Night Programming Has Started!

Our Wednesday nights are going well, and it is great to have such wonderful energy and fun from the kids. It is going to be a great year as we look at the Liturgical calendar this semester. Come and enjoy learning and having fun while do so!
