Meet Our Hospice Volunteer, Patti Anderson!
Patti Anderson has been a Hospice Volunteer for 7 years.
One of the greatest gifts that retirement gave me was the opportunity to meet and make friends with a special part of our Powell River community. I spend time in homes, ECU, Willingdon Creek, the Hospital and Kiwanis Assisted Living.
I visit our ECU regularly. My goal is to form a relationship/friendship with the residents so when they are at their end of life, and I’m with them, I am not a stranger. My dream is when everyone dies, someone is holding their hand and they feel loved.
I have learned more about life and what’s important from my new friends than I learned in my lifetime. I am truly fortunate.
Hospice has taught me that it takes such a small action of “giving my time” and listening, to leave a huge impact on others and fills my heart.
I love being a Hospice Volunteer.
