Did you spot us with Carl the Collector at Kickoff to Kindergarten?
The 2026 Kickoff to Kindergarten was a success! University of Nevada, Reno Extension team, Partners in Parenting, hosted the 11th annual Kickoff to Kindergarten for children ages 3-5 and their families on August 22, 2026, at the East Las Vegas Library. Over 933 participants enjoyed hands-on learning activities, dental and vision screenings and valuable resources provided by participating agencies. Participants also received Exploration Essentials kits,
books, tote bags and school supplies. Other event highlights included balloon artists, face painting, a produce market, character meet-and-greets, dairy treats and more.
At the 4-H Table, youth were invited to tell their own story through a petroglyph activity led by the 4-H STEAM team using clay and wood. Families were also provided with more information about 4-H programming and events and where youth can go to participate in more fun activities like this.
Thank you to everyone who came! Make sure to save the date for next year:
Aug. 28, 2027!
