From Your Pastor...

In Acts 2, after Peter proclaims the good news of Jesus, the crowd asks a simple, urgent question: “What shall we do?” It is the same question we are invited to ask. Peter’s response is clear: repent and be baptized. Turn your life in a new direction. Let your life be marked by Christ.

Repentance is not only about naming specific sins; it is about reorienting our whole lives around Jesus. Baptism becomes an outward sign of that inward turning. And what follows? Forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit—freedom for a new way of living.

At Paul Givens’ funeral this week, we heard a powerful example of that reorientation. As a young man, Paul picked up a Gideon Bible in a Milwaukee hotel room. Reading John 3:16, he realized for the first time that God so loved him, Paul Givens, and that Jesus was given for him. That moment changed everything. His life turned. His path shifted.

Forgiven and freed, Paul lived the rest of his days marked by that encounter, serving Christ in ways he never could have imagined.

The question remains for us: What shall we do?

It is a privilege to serve God as one of your clergy.

Easter Series: Building Blocks

We're in the midst of a new sermon series, "Building Blocks." Over the course of the next seven weeks and culminating on Pentecost Sunday, we will explore stories of the early church and what they teach us about the fundamentals of faith.

Here are the upcoming Scriptures and tentative sermon titles:

April 19: Luke 24:13-35 ("Recognizing Jesus")

April 26: Acts 2:42-47 ("Living in Community")

May 3: John 14:1-14 ("Asking Questions")

May 10: Acts 17:22-31 ("Sharing our Faith")

May 17: Acts 1:6-14 ("Seeking Guidance Together")

May 24: Acts 2:1-21 ("Being Moved")

A new sermon series is always a great time to invite others to join you for worship, especially if they do not have a church home of their own.
