Pastor Trudy's Message
Elijah and All Saints. We will be lighting candles to remember the light of all of those who have gone before. Then we will hear the story of Elijah the prophet at a time when he is cast out and alone. He has to trust God to send ravens with bread and meat each day. Then God sends Elijah to a foreign country and tells him a widow will care for him. She shares her last bit of meal and oil to feed him… trusting that the God Elijah proclaims will care for her and her son. Trust may be a hard thing for us because at some point trust will require us to release our perception that we are in control.
Gracious God, help us to trust You in all things. With our daily bread, with our health, with our money, with our vote, with our family, with our friends. Help us to notice where we are holding tightly to our desire for control and then help us to trust and let go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thanks to all for the notes, cards, and other encouragements for Pastor Appreciation Month. I feel appreciated! - PT
