We're about to drop an F bomb: Flower

Greetings!

This sweet darling came through our doors last week in need of urgent medical care after being rescued from a neglect situation that left her underweight and flea-infested to the point where her harness hung off her, and flea dirt peeked through fuzzy patches where fluffy fur should be.

Flower lived outdoors without adequate food, veterinary care, companionship, and love. Seen as a “weed” versus the beautiful, feeling creature she is.

Today she is flea-free and on a veterinary plan to “fatten” her up. Flower will flourish because of your kindness.

Because of your support, sweet souls like Flower get a second chance at happiness and health at WCHS. That is what your donation does!

Will you donate to give the next Flower a second chance?

Every dollar goes towards medical care, food, and supplies. THANK YOU for your kindness, today and every day.

P.S. Flower reminds us that while animal rescue is incredibly difficult, together we can create happy endings for the most vulnerable animals. Thank you for donating today.

Forever love for Zelda and Moses

We're full to the brim with cats and kittens seeking their forever homes. Twelve went home this weekend, including Moses and Zelda, a bonded senior pair.

Their new dad saw them online and fell in love. He called us immediately, and showed up right at opening time. He told us how he recently lost his beloved kitty to an unexpected illness with tears in his eyes, and how excited he is to give this senior pair a loving home.

"I'm 75 years old," he said. "I don't want to bring home a kitten and leave it without a home when I'm gone. I'm so happy to adopt these two so we can live out our golden years together."

Pictured above, love at first sight. "Hi, sweetie, I'm your new daddy," he said, and Zelda happily greeted him for pets. Minutes later, they all went home together.

Walk. Fundraise. Save Lives.

Our 24th Annual Walk for Animals is coming up on September 12, and we're getting excited to pet all of your dogs!

Kuna and Waffles (pictured above) were our amazing dog mascots last year. We've opened our dog mascot contest on Facebook (register and comment a photo of your dog to enter), our special edition t-shirts are in production, and we're gathering prizes for top fundraisers and dog winners of the peanut butter licking and musical sit contests.

All we need is YOU to make this event a huge success for the animals.

Register today to support us (even if you can't join us in person), set a fundraising goal, and ask your friends and family to contribute even $5 each. It all adds up to help us reach our goal of $30,000 for the animals.

Ps. We also have sponsorships available for businesses in exchange for marketing benefits. Reach out to violet@windhamcountyhumane.org to learn more.
