Metroplex’s economic diversification and industrial developments secured its position at the top of the Urban Land Institute’s latest report. Summer headlines concerning the struggles that the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is experiencing in its downtown areas and in its office market don’t seem to bother real estate professionals.
The area ranked as the number one market to watch for the third consecutive year in the Emerging Trends in Real Estate report from the Urban Land Institute and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Before the three straight years as the number one market to watch, DFW spent six years in the top ten. In the 2024 report, the region’s rapid rate of post pandemic recovery was noted, as well as big banks moving to town and a relatively affordable housing market, according to the Dallas Business Journal. Recently, DFW median home prices were set below median pricing in Midland, a Permian Basin oil town with a fraction of the Metroplex’s population.
