The work of the Children’s Center for Hope and Healing is incredibly important and has a profound impact on the lives of vulnerable children. Child sexual abuse is an alarmingly pervasive issue, affecting 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys before they turn 18. Tragically, most of these children know their abusers—often family members or others with close access—making the trauma even more complex and difficult to address.
Without proper intervention, the long-term consequences of child sexual abuse can be devastating. Survivors are at a much higher risk of facing numerous health and behavioral challenges, including heart disease, diabetes, mood disorders, anxiety, substance abuse, and even early death. Many also struggle with impulse control, suicidal thoughts, and tragically, some may even perpetuate the cycle of abuse.
But there is hope. Therapy makes an incredible difference. Early intervention through specialized therapy—provided by our licensed, master’s-level therapists—can significantly reduce the lifelong impacts of trauma. Children who receive this care are more likely to thrive in school, build healthier relationships, and lead lives free from alcohol or substance abuse, violence, and other mental health challenges.
At the Children’s Center, we offer this critical therapy completely free of charge. However, we rely heavily on the support of people like you to continue our mission. Every contribution made directly supports the healing and future of vulnerable children, giving them a chance to reclaim their lives.
We need your help. We are asking each person who receives this message to consider donating at least $20 per month and to share our mission with your family, friends, and acquaintances. If they too take on the challenge of donating $20 monthly, together, we could increase our annual funding by $500,000. This would allow us to eliminate the waitlist for therapy services and ensure no child is left to face the lasting effects of abuse alone.
Your generosity can transform lives, helping these children move from trauma to healing and hope. Thank you for your love and support—it means the world to us and to the children we serve.
