Conferences, 10/13 - 10/15

Oct. 13th-15th are Parent Teacher Conferences. Teachers included copies of the conference schedules in the envelopes today. Please mark your conference time(s) on your calendar.

*Please note that there will be Minimum School Days on Tues. 10/13 and Thurs. 10/15 and school will get out at 11:30 am before lunch.

Disaster Drill, 10/15

Thursday, October 15th at 10:15, Pearl Prep will participate in a nationwide earthquake disaster drill. No signing in/out students during the drill. Students will play different roles to help teachers and other students to practice what to do in a real earthquake. A Sergeant from the Temple City Sheriff's Station will be here to review our teams and make sure we are ready in case of a real disaster. This is also a great time for you as a family to make sure you are prepared at home as well. Go to shakeout.org to learn more about the Great Shakeout.

Grandparents' Day, 11/5

🎉Our Kinder - 5th Grade students will participate in a “Grand Celebration of America” filled with a special performance, fun activities, lunch, and plenty of quality time with their GRANDparents!

📬 Please address and stamp the envelopes sent home last week and return them tomorrow, 10/7. Students will use them to send their special invitations!

⭐ 6th Grade: Your Grandparents’ Day will be 3/23, and you’ll be helping with this event as a service project!

October Teamwork Game!

Our Schoolwide Battleship game is underway! Classes have set sail by strategically positioning their ships on their game boards and have had their first shot at hitting the ships of another class. Congrats to 5th grade for hitting 2 of 4th grades ships on the first day!

Trunk or Treat, 10/25

Get ready for a fun-filled afternoon of free, family-friendly trick-or-treating! Everyone is welcome to attend on October 25th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Kare Park in Irwindale.

Come dressed in your favorite costume, bring your family, and get ready for lots of fun! The event is sponsored by Kare Youth Church.

Candy donations are welcome & can be dropped off in our office.

(Note: Because this is not a Pearl event, volunteers and donations do not count for service hours.)

Literary Character Day, 10/30

Friday, Oct. 30th is Literary Character Day at Pearl. Students are encouraged to dress up as a character in a book. We'll have a parade and photo op at Rio Hondo Prep and parents are invited to watch and take photos. Reminder: no ghosts, witches, vampires, grotesque monsters, guns or realistic weapons.
