A huge thank you to our PTO for supporting our students with the annual Halloween Parties. Our students had so much fun! Our staff had a blast dressing as Pixar movies this year.

This week we had many of our "older" students who volunteered to read to our "younger" students. That is one of the advantages of a K-6 building!

If you have not reviewed your child's report card, please take a look in ParentVUE (ParentVUE Dashboard). If you have any questions, reach out to your child's teacher or feel free to ask those questions at Parent Teacher Conferences.

Parent Teacher Conference Sign-Ups will close this Sunday, November 3. After that time, please contact your child's teacher for a conference.

This week we do not have school on Tuesday, November 5 due to Election Day. We also have a 12:05 pm student dismissal on Thursday, November 7, and there is no school for students on November 8.

Please make sure to read the important message below from me.

Thank you,

Message from Dr. Spallasso

Bristol Bay Elementary School Families,

I wanted to inform you of some personal news. Unfortunately, due to medical reasons, I will be taking an extended leave of absence to focus on my health and recovery. While this is not an easy decision, it is necessary to ensure I can return to serve our school community with my full energy and commitment.

During my time away, Mr. Brendan Crosby will be stepping in as acting principal. I have full confidence in Mr. Crosby’s ability to continue the important work of supporting our students, teachers, and families.

Mr. Crosby will be assisted by two retired school administrators, Mr. Steve Bjork and Mr. Joel Wyeth. Both Mr. Bjork and Mr. Wyeth spent the majority of their careers in Y115 and they bring much leadership experience to Bristol Bay Elementary School.  Our District administration will also be available to support Bristol Bay Elementary School during my absence.

I know change can bring uncertainty, but I assure you that our outstanding staff remains committed to providing your children with the best possible educational experience. My last day of work will be November 8, 2024. Should you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Crosby at bccrosby@y115.org or call the office at 630-553-5121.

I appreciate your understanding during this time and thank you for the support you have shown me and our school. I look forward to returning as soon as I am able and will keep the school community updated on my progress.

Thank you for your continued partnership in ensuring the success of our students.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Conference sign-ups will close on Sunday, November 3. CLICK HERE for the sign-up.

Some parents have reached out with questions. The first page explains about conferences. In order to register for a conference, parents must either use the tabs at the top of the page (computer) or the drop-down menu (phone) and select the correct teacher. Remember, our specials teachers would love the chance to meet with parents, too!

Book Fair

October 31st-November 8th (Open During Conferences)

Next week our Book Fair will be open for students to purchase books. Please see the attached flyer to discover which day your student's class will be purchasing and know that an electronic wallet can be set up for them at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/bristolbay

Also as a reminder, the fair will be open during conferences if it is easier for your family to make your purchases at that time (adults can use credit cards).

PAWS: Positive Adults with Students

Partnering with our community is such an important part of schools. We would love to bring in positive adults to help out during the school day. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents, or community adults to make a difference in the lives of our Bristol Bay students. Questions about this program can be answered by Mr. Crosby, bccrosby@y115.org.

If you are interested in being a Bay PAWS, please use the LINK to register.
